How To: Ruin Clothes

by Rachel

I am an inexperienced expert  at this guys. Just take scissors to any piece of clothing in hopes of making it better, and it will probably get worse! Cut your jorts too short, cut off sleeves with too big of arm holes, and take scissors to a chiffon skirt, and I guarantee you, you will never wear that piece of clothing again.

Save your scissors… For crafts and cutting and pasting, because you will probably ruin your clothes.

What’s Yo Beef #41

by Shannon

Shannon

So last Sunday I went to the Jays game to get a bobblehead for Rachel. There was a decent line, and I was in it for about 40 minutes. I could deal with that; I knew it wasn’t going to be a picnic going in. (Though in hindsight, I should have brought snacks, and definitely made it a picnic.)

Here’s where my beef comes in. Once we started moving, all these people just melded to the line and started cutting in all over the place! What the dude?! There was a line for a reason, buttmunchers. People who can’t obey society’s innate laws and have no social conscience in respect to lines. COME ON!

Rachel
That is frustrating Shannon… If you can’t do a simple societal task as properly join a line, just stay home. But the question burning in all of our minds I’m sure, did you get the bobblehead?!?!?

My beef today, specifically, is that I finally mustered up the ambition to hem some skirts and dresses, but damned if I can find my straight pins! Generally, I am constantly moving shit around and ALWAYS forgetting where I put it. Its really, really, really… really annoying. COME ON!

How To: Sew an Old Fur Coat

DON’T! Just use hot glue.

What’s Yo’ Beef #15

by Rachel

First, a relevant non-beef: my phone finally has Yo’ in its memory. And now, for the beefs.

Rachel

My beef today is when you buy a super cool dress for $2 at a thrift store, spend a lot of time trying to make it fit you by adding flashy back panels, realize things are going surprisingly well (which NEVER happens with my projects, especially sewing projects) and you are getting real excited that it’s almost finished, only to find that there is a tear in the side. Just another thing to crappily sew up. COME ON!

Shannon

My beef today is waiting. What’s the point?! I get way too excited to wait for anything. For example, Liam and I are planning a holiday party for mid-December. Mid-December! That’s like, three weeks away! I can’t wait that long. I’ve already been planning the music, beer, food, and my dance moves. Or, at my work, we just drew names for our Secret Santa yesterday. I’m already so excited! And it’s still two weeks away! Waiting. What’s the point, amiright?!
